Rhine Ernest LLP welcomed Mr. Renner to the firm in December of 2004. After serving in the United States Navy for four years, on board the USS Kinkaid (DD 965) and USS Nimitz (CVN 68), he earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University. He then obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, where we was awarded the Chicago Bar Foundation, Walter H. Moses, Scholarship on the basis of academic and personal achievements. While in law school, he interned for the Federal Public Defender Program, assisting in the representation of indigent persons charged with the commission of federal crimes in the Northern District of Illinois, and clerked for the Judiciary of the 2d Judicial Circuit, Illinois. Mr. Renner focuses his practice primarily on coal, oil, gas, real estate and commercial transactions. He is routinely involved in conducting extensive title examinations and issuing acquisition, pre-drill and/or division order opinions.
